hi,
in general my dog is not super vocal. he is 7 months and done teething. when he chews one particular toy (a Good Cuz chicken) he moans and groans and whines---but not with any other toy! he has consistently done this since i gave him the chicken which was at about 8 weeks.
any thoughts or similar experiences??? it's SO weird. he chews on other things (RMB's, bully sticks..etc) and makes not a sound. weird i think but i wonder why?
maybe it's just really high-value for him, he just loves it to death and moans and whines in excitement? teagan isn't at all rational about her cuzes (allowed on a limited basis b/c of it), she loves them.
Oh! And that noise!! When you get two dogs chomping away on two big ones at the same time, and not with any rhythm or order, and then the kids start yelling louder to be heard over the dogs and then turn up Sponge Bob louder, and you are on the phone…
So back to the growling, I think Jenn hit it on the head with the super high value object. Keep in mind that you can use that to your advantage by doing some obedience with it and use that as the reward. Also, keep in mind that some dogs can become possessive over toys like that. It may be best to do as Jennifer and allow it out once in a while.
him
ok so basically he is crooning lovingly to it. funny! but makes sense. i havent used it in OB, usually i use his Orbee or a tug but i will try it. i havent thrown it b/c it bounces so cray i dont want him to get hurt (again)...
THX!!
