Hi everyone... I was wondering if you guys could help me out with another question. My fiance told me that Kane (13wk) is too attached to me. Can this be possible? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I thought it was a good thing to bond with your GSD.
Now before I get a reply of "Why do I listen to him?" I dont care what he says... Im not an expert but Im more knowledgable than he is.
The reason he says this is because Kane follows me everywhere... if I walk out of he room he folows, if Im in the kitchen he follows and will lay down in there until I walk out. If I go to the bathroom and dont let him in he will lay by the door, sometimes whine a little. But he does just hang out in the family room too... its not something he does ALL the time, but most of the time. If hes tired and resting he usually dont follow me. Also I am home all day everyday, I work at home, so hes always with me, although he is crated at night and times durring the day. Am I creating an unconfident pup? Or am I on the right track with our bonding? Is there anything I am doing wrong? I personally think my fiance wished he was bonding as well with Kane, but the sad truth is he doesnt understand how dogs think or learn therefore I am the leader of the pack... I feed, clean, train, and play with Kane. He does play with him but I dont let him train him. My question isnt really about Kane bonding with my finace, but more of if its ok for Kane to be so attached or if I am doing someting wrong? Thank I know you all will give me some input.
