I had to put Bruno in his crate for like a couple minutes so I just left his leash on him....his brand new leash from Leerburg. You probably can guess the rest...He chewed almost completely in two pieces. Ruined. My fault totally.
It happens, unfortunately. We're only human, after all.
If you can find someone who does leatherwork, you can have both ends fashioned into shorter leashes- have a handle added to the snap end and a snap added to the handle end.
You got two traffic leashes for the price of one. What a clever dog.

How dumb can I be?
Oooh! oooh! Please can I answer that one????
I was talking to a neighbor once, I start to walk away and I wonder why my leash feels so light. Cujo chewed right through it in the 60 seconds I stood there talking. He was still lying there on their driveway witih half a leash in his mouth. He was about 6 months old I think.

Bob Scott posted about that once: He had that happen as he sat around a pool talking with other handlers, with his dog under his chair, after a seminar event.
The dog never took off or anything, but when they got up to go, he was no longer attached to the loop end of the leash. LOL!
