I was planning on washing my dog in my bathtub this weekend... except that I don't have the hose attachment. so my bathroom has a standalone shower and a separate tub. do they make some sort of hose attachment that I can connect to the faucet? I guess I would need something that is quite long... 10 ft?
I don't know if they have anything that will attach to a bathtub faucet, I guess it depends on how it is shaped..maybe.
You can get a detachable shower head for around 50 bucks at lowes and wash him in the shower.
I know you can also get a piece of hardware that makes it so you can attach a hose to a sink,it changes it from a male to a female threading (is that the right word?) I just have to unscrew the bottom of the faucet where the little screens are.
I do this when I am changing aquarium water.
In the winter I take mine to a do it yourself dog grooming place, it is 12 bucks for any size or breed of dog and they provide everything you need, including the super duper blow dryer and shampoo. Maybe you have on in your area.
But the best part is that they clean up the mess and my tub at home doesn't get clogged!
I vote self-grooming place too. Don't know of any attachments and I can't imagine trying to get my dogs to be happy in a tub. Shower, hose in the yard, or self grooming place. Hose in the yard with the dog tied to the fence (with the leash really tight to the fence) is the best way for at-home unless you have a big enough walk-in shower.

If you get the part of a python(aquarium water changer) that attaches to the faucet and a $8 hose it will work fine. That's what did with Sandy when I was at my apartment. Our dogs like the massaging shower head that I have at my parents house though.
Doggy Day Spa. $12 for half an hour. I do 3 dogs in half an hour, and THEY clean up the mess! YAY! Plus, you don't need to show shot records if you wash your own dog.
When Caleb was younger I lived in a townhouse that had a really nice walk-in shower that I used to bathe him in. I typically had to be in their with him (no comments from the peanut/pervert gallery, please!) or he would leave, but it worked great and kept the water where it belongs.
I've never had a dog groomed.
Is it possible to wait with the dog? My mother typically just drops her standard poodle off and comes back later in the day.
That seems to be the norm.
Has anyone done otherwise?
I'd love to get my girl groomed in the spring when she starts blowing her coat, but I'm not sure if it's some sort of groomer taboo to stay with your dog.
I wash Nico at home in the bathtub, but she is really really easy and is in and out in 5 minutes and dry 15 minutes later just with a towel rub down.
I can't imagine washing Yote in the tub, I think the mess and hair would give me a panic attack!!
I have never dropped mine off for grooming either, I am thinking I would like to this spring as well because the hair is out of control already, but I am hesistant to leave him there.
My mom takes her dog every month.
She just drops her off in the morning and they call her when she is ready.
I don't know if they give actual specific appointments or just the day have they have room on.
