As of Friday, I started my 2 cats on Honest Kitchen Prowl. I've also bought some chicken livers and chicken hearts that I added Saturday. One cat Turbo, the male, is taking to it very eagerly. My female, Tula Belle, has basically told me what I can do with it. She really hasn't eaten anything but just a little kibble since Friday and now she won't even eat that. I put her some in a bowl and she looked at it and walked away. However, everytime I go to the garage (where the kibble is kept) she follows me meowing her head off? I've tried to do some research and as far as making the switch I've read not to fast an overweight and well she kind of is so I'm a little worried about her not eating anything now. Any advice would be appreciated. BTW Turbo is about 4 and Tula Belle is about 6-7.

When the cats bowl is halfway empty at my house it is like someone is torturing all three cats, they have absolute temper tantrums if it goes empty for more than an hour or so.
Neurotic little things!!!
Can you mix mostly kibble with a little bit of the Prowl?
I have thought about switching my cats to it too, but with my senior cat I am worried about her not eating it.
Mine will all eat little bits of raw chicken or beef, maybe yours would like that rather then the organ meat?
I have been told not to fast cats as well.

I first tried just the prowl - next feeding time I put her kibble on top of the prowl - next time I put a piece of turkey on top of the kibble on top of the prowl. Glad to know my cat is not so unusual about her food bowl being full. She gets a little nervous when the food level goes down. she is also used to just grazing at will. I've taken the bowls up now. They have about 20 minutes to eat and then I pick them back up. I'll try the chicken or beef - should I boil it a little at first?

Along with THK, canned food might be a good "bridge", too.
Connie mentioned doing this with some dogs, and I have since read about people using it for cats.
You are right about not fasting.
What raw cat diet info are you going by? Just in case I find anything that might be helpful in addition to what you are doing.
I think time and persistence are the only sure-fire ways to switch a cat.
I've thought about getting a cat just so I can feed it.

HA!
I have always been scared to try all raw with my cats, they are just so small and so much more delicate than dogs.
My cats are the most neurotic picky stubborn little things when it comes to food. It took me nearly a month to get my oldest switched from Cat chow (before I knew better) to wellness.
I don't microwave the meat for them, I just toss little chunks into their bowls when I am cooking.
What about using some Tuna? Mine are all nuts for tuna and roll around on the kitchen floor and moan like junkies until I let them clean the can for me.

I am not really following any diet plan. I believe where I read you could add organ meat etc. to the Honest Kitchen and when Tula Belle didn't eat the HK by itself, I thought it might be more enticing to her if I added the chicken livers. I think the canned food might be a good idea. She has never turned that away.

She does like Tuna. I'm still researching the raw diet. It still makes me a little nervous but only because I don't know that much. What I have read makes so much sense as far as the species appropriate diet. So I guess until I can get to the store and get canned food she can have her kibble.

Just an FYI
My cats Love the Innova EVO cat food, and it doesn't upset any of their stomachs.
I don't know if Wellness Core makes a canned food, but that is the dry they are eating now and they seem to like it better than the Innova EVO cat food.

Wellness also makes canned blended meat - I think they have Turkey, Salmon, and Venison. I don't think there are any bones, it's not complete as far as I know, but my cats like it.
eta: just went to the wellness site - it's actually in the dog (oh well) canned food section: http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/dog_wellness_can_index.html - the 95% meat formulas.
eta: at risk of stating the obvious, since i don't believe it is complete, this is not the extent of my cat's diet (i rotate between different kinds of grain-free kibble/wet). just in case people were wondering if i'd lost my mind
