I saw that. They showed more than I thought they would. I couldn't believe a rendering facility agreed to it in the first place. They usually like as little attention as possible.
They still sugar coated it a little. Not sure about that facility in particular, but they didn't mention the countless others that render euthanized dogs, cats, horses, etc.
I have to admit that I am a little glad that I didn't catch that one, not sure my stomach could take it! LOL!
It makes me think that this show is to dogs, what the movie
"Super Size" (was that the title? about the fast food restaurants like McDonald's etc? my memory is for beans these days!)is to humans.
Both are junk!
You know what is interesting? When I got my first GSD, she was on kibble from the breeder, and before I even knew of raw food for dogs. She was on kibble for about 6 months but she never was very interested in it. She would eat it and after about two weeks, she would snub her food. I switched to a different better quality kibble and again, two weeks and then snub it.
When I finally discovered raw from this web site, and started her on it, she has loved her food ever since and has never snubbed it at all. She sometimes wants her bones before her meat part, but she always licks the bowl clean every time.
It could be the variety instead of the same old thing every day, but thinking about it, it would be like Connie says, eating junk cereal every day as with the fresh diet, it is like eating a healthy diet, like they would eat in the wild.
No wonder she prefers the fresh raw food?
Pretty cool stuff!
I say it all the time, but I am so grateful to have discovered this site, as it has educated me in ways that have vastly improved both my dogs health and appearance.
I had the same problem as you did Joyce. My current dog would go about one month on a food before he would not eat it. And even a different food, he would always pick at it. I only wish that I would have done this earlier, with my last dog. I thought about it in 2001 and bought a book on it too, but a K9 handler in my former department discouraged me from doing it. I had and still have a lot of respect for him, but now I would vehamently disagree with him about it.
Unfortunately, I didn't find this website until mid 2006 and switched over to raw in Nov. 2006. Both Timber and I have never looked back! I can't wait to see how a dog does from the beginning on raw. There is a puppy in my future...
