Three dogs all chose this out of a lineup of four different food rewards. I let each one choose separately from the four, laid out on the floor, and each one went straight to these first.
This is going some, because they all looooove all of the different Zuke's and Simon & Huey's.
I've used the Plato salmon treats with good sucess. Actually, they were called "Ice House Salmon Treats" at CostCo. However, CostCo no longer carries them. Plato had made them under contract to CostCo as a house brand.
Dogs like them pretty well and they break up easily into small bits.
I try all the treats before I give them to the dog (yeah, I probably am taking it a little too far...) and the Peanut Butter/Carob version is definitely the best (as far as people taste goes).
Oscar really likes pretty much everything Zukes makes, but I've just been taking his word for it, because I haven't tried them myself . I will admit to taste testing many of his training treats, but I just can't stomach anything with liver in it , and some of the meat based but strange consistency (like the Zukes) treats give me the willies. The closer it is to a cookie, or an actual piece of dried meat, the more likely I am to test it... but that's a completely human perspective - as long as I like the ingredients list I'll give it a go with the beast - I'll just limit the "spitting" treats to those that don't elicit my gag reflex!
Murphy likes the salmon the best too, so those are the ones I tend to stock up on. He likes the salmon Zukes better than any flavor of any other treat, even better than meat rolls. Great for OB and they fit in all kinds of toys. PERFECT size. It's all good.
speaking of stuffing toys. i have the kong stuff-a-ball (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002DHO1I), and I have basically been feeding my dog her kibble out of this thing when I leave, but I 'd like to find something that would be a little harder for her to get out. any ideas? the zukes are too small too.
