What they say and what they do. Please take one hour out of your day to watch these videos. If you have seen Pedigree Dog Exposed video then please watch the first link/video showing the deplorable condition of the show German Shepherd Dog, and to think judges believe that these dogs are superior representatives of the breed. Don't think this travesty is peculiar to the UK it is not, as the AKC is on this same path. Thanking you in advanced. Norman
Sorry my forum title was incorrect and should be "General Dog Conversation" and not "Member Photos and short Bio". I would appreciate it if someone could correct it.
Thanks for the links Norman, I have only been reading about this program, but hadn't had a chance to see it for myself, until today. Can't say as that I feel very good after watching it, but my eyes on this subject (which I knew general aspects of) have definitely been widened. The worst parts were the interviews with the breeders who were so clearly blind to the obvious and tragic problems they were facilitating - cringe worthy, to say the least. Actually, scratch that, the worst parts were watching the boxers and spaniels suffer such agonizing seizures... simply no words for that.
Thank you for posting this. I appreciated the opportunity to watch it and be informed. My first shepherd had those "show" like hind legs and he was a mess when he was older.
My working line dogs will never have these issues and I would never get "show" line dogs again.
I challange the judge to come over to belgium with that dog and i'll
-Put him trough his paces as a working dog. (to see if he can a days job)
-discuss with the guy the points on which this dog should be excluded; standard in hand
I even mentionned in the post that the judge was:
a: a complete dumb....
or
b: had a hidden agenda
There were more post defending the judge than giving me reason
HOWEVER: I really wish when people posted graphic content, they would at LEAST also post a disclaimer to that effect, for those who might be disturbed by watching videos of suffering animals. Thanks.
