This is to let all know that a person named Steve Gossmeyer claims to be a graduate of the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers. He in fact is NOT. As always we advised anyone wishing to hire a trainer, check out where they received their training, ask for references, see transcripts. Just like screening a babysitter for your child.
Again - people who hire dog trainers need to check references. It only takes a few minutes. I dont have a lot of patience for liars and cheats and Steve Gossmeyer appears to be both.
With luck Google will pick this up and when people google Steve Gossmeyer this will come up. Now all we need is his home address, phone and scam business name
"Steve Gossmeyer is a graduate of Tom Rose school for dog trainers (tomrose.com) and is a certified master trainer and animal behaviorist. He is also a certified vet tech. And is a certified decoy for French ringsport through the North American Ring Assosiation,
PSA through the Protection Sport Assosiation and Dvg through the DVG America for Schutzhund."
That was the from the first hit on the Yahoo search engine, so yes, it looks as though Steve is advertising himself in an unethical manner.
I'm also posting the link to the DVG America site that keeps a list of the Certified Helpers for their organization - Steve Gossmeyer's name is not on that list, either. http://www.dvgamerica.org/
Steve Gossemeyer says lots of things. Anyone talking to him for about 16 seconds should be able to figure that out. I can't imagine anyone w/an IQ over 70 would actually believe ANYTHING spewing out of his mouth; that website made me laugh. He must've done all this in an accelerated online class or something, b/c he wasn't s*!+ last time I saw him or heard anything about him. I was just glad to hear he'd finally moved out of my friend's place so I could stand to go over there again.
And another thing...what exactly is the "head of police K9 for central IL?" I know I'm just a lay person, a mere civilian, and a girl at that...but that one escapes me. Is that an official title? Is Central IL a secret dept.?
Sorry for the confusion to all. I did attend the school in 2001 when jeff posal and clay meadows as well as holly rose.were instructing there. Im not sure if my info was lost or for some reason is not in your system, but as it stands i am only training my own dogs.
My webpage is old and some things are outdated. i was a schutzhund dvg helper but my cert expired. as well as my FR one did. the only dog sport i am currently certified in PSA. so sorry for the confusion. i am not trying to scam anyone as my webpage is out dated and has been ajusted. i am currently only decoying in psa and training and competing my own dogs. like i said i am not a trainer for hire.nor am i selling dogs or any other thing.
ps everyone take this information for what you want. as i said i am only training my dogs anymore. so i have made my responds and no further need to. think of this what you will and take it for what its worth
I was at TRS from 7/98 through 1/99. After graduating, I ran the IKT program at Kennelwood until 4/02 during which time I lived 10 minutes from TRS. I went by there frequently to visit, work dogs, re-certify my narcotics dog, etc. I can't say that I recall ever seeing you there or hearing your name.
I can say with 100% certainty that neither Jeff Postle or Holly Rose was an instructor at TRS in 2001. I know this because I hired Jeff to work for me at Kennelwood. He subsequently went out to the St. Peters location to start and run an IKT program there, which is where he was in 2001. Holly was working at Petropolis in 2001 running the training program there.
