Welp, here goes nothing! After lots of thought, feedback from forum members (which I'm very grateful for!), research, and divine timing in finding a real-life mentor I'm going raw. I will begin switching Keiko over in a couple of weeks which I'm quite excited about! I thought I might update since I've asked for input regarding this decision a few times now. I'm sure many more questions are to come! (As well as some stool watching and potential photo-taking? Those seem to be socially acceptable pastimes amongst Leerburgers...finally, a place where I fit in! )
When you find yourself poking at your dog's poop with a stick in public, or smooshing it around in the bag you just picked it up with, to see if there is any undigested bone; you know you are an inductee into the Raw Feeders Club. LOL.
I assure you, this will give you such satisfaction and pride in knowing you are doing the best you can do for your dog. It is a real thrill to hear your dog crunching bones and really enjoying his dinner instead of just wolfing down some dried kibble!
Haha! I sure hope I don't get that question...I see myself rambling aimlessly in response.
Well I thought I would be starting raw in a couple of weeks but it looks like I'm starting tonight! I'm starting with something premixed (I went and watched how it was made today) and left with a five pound chub in hand. I'll be substituting kibble dinner tonight with 1/4 a portion of what she will eventually be eating in one sitting. I will also give her about a half a cup of yogurt to go along with the food - does this sound OK?
