So a few months ago there was an assault in Seattle where a group of kids allowed and encouraged their dog to attack two women in two separate incidents. It was a horrid story and I thought for sure that the dog would be a dead dog. Much to my surprise a sanctuary for dogs that are "unadoptable" agreed to take this dog.
I'd normally be a little baffled by this but this sanctuary is in Forks, WA. Which is a little like sending someone to the end of the earth where there is no sunshine and it rains at a constant drizzle 3/4s of the year. Not many people live there, the city isn't exactly in a state of growth, and no... it's not like the Twilight books. But I guess if there is a private sanctuary for such dogs, with a good quality of life, and safety for the public at large who am I to say it's wrong? Too bad there isn't a sanctuary for the kids in this story.
Wow. Unfortunatley our society produces many of these teens. Hopefully there's a program that will take her, but most likely she'll get into the system and lead a sorry@ss life. She's probably treating the dog like she's been treated. But hey it could've been worse, the dog could be living with her behind some wierdo's house in a tent city, whelping out his kids, while his wife stands idly by somewhere in California...
