I have heard that chocolate is toxic for dogs. I gave her one tablesppon hydrogen pyroxide to induce vomiting about 10 minutes ago. so far no vomiting. any suggestions? vets office is closed till noon today.

I've used 1/4 to 1/2 cup on my 55 lb female to get her to vomit a plastic bag. You can mix the HP with chicken broth and he will drink it right up. If it works, he should vomit within a minute or so. I've also had to do this when I had a dog (50 lb) eat a ton of grapes. At least that's how I did it, maybe it was too much, hopefully someone else will chime in. I do know that one tablespoon would not work on my dogs.

I was there and got all the choclate ( plus her bfast) before she could try to re eat it. Thats gross I know but she is a real pig. oink oink. Dang that was a 16.00 box of chocolate truffles! My fault, I left it where she could reach it. Thanks for all your help!

I did speak with the vet who said that she didnt believe that the type or amount that she consumed would have been toxic for her, but still...Im just glad she is going to be ok. She said just watch for the nausea as you mentioned and also for the possibility of over excitement due to some of the caffiene getting into her system. Thanks again.

Of course that dog was deranged and also manage to eat Polly Pocket and Strawberry Shortcake as well as a bic razor and makeup.
