Just a thought because of other posts about loosing your dog/pet.
I lived in my first house (after marriage) for almost 40 yrs.
I've buried more then my share of dogs there. Because I also do a lot of gardening, each and every dog has a plant on their site.
Two yrs ago we move to a new location and had to leave a lot of friends behind but I've take each one of their plants/divisions/cuttings with me as reminders of them.
Just a thought!
i've done pretty much what bob has done over the years, though i haven't always taken it to the degree of moving plants/cuttings/etc. i do know that it gives me great comfort that the best dog i've ever had, has a unique tree being fertilized by her remains at my sister's home.
Brix just disappeared, but Edge's grave will be dedicated to both those boys--kind of a rock/grass garden, with a few bright perennials/annuals ( i have to not get over-ambitious as there's only 3'x5' to work with there). but it's going to be a nice place to visit and remember.
