Went rock climbing today, local cliff, pretty popular place.
Guy came walking up to the cliff with his climbing partner and his dog. Dog was off leash, and kept in close proximity to his master/owner. Another dog wandered up, and the owner of the first dog gave the command "Easy!" His dog plopped to a sit, and stayed there, calm, until he and the second dog did that butt sniff thing that dogs do.
Last I saw, they were playing nicely and having a big ol' time.
Nice to know there are people out there that have their dogs dialed in just right for social settings.
T'was a mutt, this dog, not a "working dog" in any sense, but the owner knew his dog, the dog knew his place, and there was a clear chain of command... It was quite remarkable to see a "lay person" have this level of control.
