likely a tapeworm
spread by fleas or from your cat's poo (from mice) not likely from raw diet
some types you can in fact get (but you have to eat the poo or the rice-like segments found dry and stuck to hair around rectum.)
your vet will have medicine for this. consider treating the cat too.

And Kristina, don't be too freaked out; worms are really a fact of life and pretty easily treated.

It's weitd but for the last few days I was thinking that maybe something was wrong..She was sleeping a lot and slow on the walks..I feel bad I didn't see it sooner!
Usually you just see the segments, it's how they reproduce, they mature at the distal end, break off, come out white and slowly undulating, try to find a place to attach on the hair, then dry up to rice-segments.
BUT- a sudden bulky diet or mild diarrhea can dislodge a big guy and a whole long piece can come out.
Tapes don't normally cause much pathology unless present in huge numbers. Unlike hookworm or whipworm which can actually kill a dog.
IMO worms are fascinating and fun to treat, you could really help a pup with a simple medicine, make a big change in coat and energy level and over-all health. Maybe that GSD pup w/diarrhea has whips - can be a hard DX as eggs are not always being shed and in the old days not all medicines worked on whips.
