I want to start running with Enoch now that he is two years old. Of course I'm going to start off with shorter distances. What I want to know from the runners on the board what leash do you use when running with your dog? Thanks
My mother, who used to run 8 miles a day with the family dog, would use a cat leash with reflective tape...however our family dog at the time didn't pull...ever...and is about 30lbs soaking wet.
a shorter no-frills leash would be best, if you want to be really cool a skiioring belt with an elastic line and a harnessed dog (it's called canicross and can be really fun provided you're not a klutz)
I use the Run Buddy and like it very much. Here's a review of a number of running leashes in the New York Times. I got the lunge buster attachment, and that seems to help, although pulling is not an issue any more. I like it so much that I use it for sniffing walks when we're just out for a stroll, not training, and I want a coffee.
