but I have been watching my keeno neat new Focused Heeling DVD and at one point Michael says something about just walking around vs "OPA" I took it to mean VS being told "HEEL"
So is my hearing deficiency showing? Did I miss something or like I said, just being dense. What is an OPA?
I know I had other questions but left the list at work. Will get it in a few and probably have more.
I wondered about ?OPA? as well, but I LOVED the DVD. Best ever. I had been working on muscle memory heeling with Maggie and she was doing great (at home against the wall). This has given me next steps! I am sure I will also have questions as I go.
Well it is good to know that I am not NUTS. It was a possibility. I have also been watching it on my laptop at the kennel so alternatively have to hear over ....gee, BARKING. But I did go back a couple times.
I am NOT a competitive show person but this training is soooooo good for everything. While I don't need nor want the true precision it helps to know what thoughts are going into the processes.
Would LOVE to see someone working with a smaller dog, or a big lug, like a mastiff or just something other than a GSD or Mal....just now and then. But totally understand why it is what it is.
I have one downside.....Now I want the other DVDs!
See, now I have enough trouble with english! Got a C in German in college, took Latin in High School and spent a productive couple years having erasers thrown at me by the teacher.
I DO know "Come By" "Away to me" "Walk Up" "Get out" (which with sheep is a whole 'nother 'out' than 'drop it' ) But all in English. Heck, I even have the OFF vs DOWN commands set. Wish I could teach my family and friends. So, yeah, the french definitely caught me off guard.
