well, just found out i am pregnant. very exciting.
now for some dog related questions...
im not far along at all, how far along is it recommended to stop working dogs?i know, i know, each person is different, but have any women here worked their dogs through pregnancy?
when did you stop posting the dog? did you just take a break, have a trusted friend/family member handle the dog, just back tie them?
im talking protection sport working, i know things like OB and non-strenuous things can be done until whenever.
and we have gone back to raw feeding. it had never given me ANY concern at all, i am generally pretty healthy, not in the least a germaphobe. i am the only one who feeds the dogs, and i handle all the food. anything i should be concerned about? i know i will be more careful from now on about wiping things down better, etc.
anything else with dogs and pregnancy im missing that i should be aware of?? i know alot of it should be common sense-not letting the crazy zoomie infected 70lb dog take a flying leap into your belly, etc.
but those who have done this before-thoughts?advice?
The Army doesn't restrict a pregnant Soldier's Physical Fitness Training until around month 6.
After that its walk at your own pace.
So, I'd say you're safe to continue training as you have been for a few more months. After that, find someone else to hold the dog during protection work.
That's based on what I went through- but that doesn't mean its the *best* advice.
Knowing that you'll be prone to swollen feet and vericose veins, you might want to plan to train for shorter lengths of time, as you go along.
Yippeee!! A new little rug rat! A big congrats Mallory.
I don't think you have to be any more careful handling raw food "for two" as you would normally for yourself, but like you said, just being a bit more "aware" and vigiliant will probably help you sleep better.
i figured i had a ways to go with the training/physical activiety, i just didn't know when.
haha, and unfortunately, i am still stuck with litter box duties, the boyfriend wont' do it, his solution is to get rid of the cat, so i'll be wearing gloves to do the deed.
