My 6yr old Rat Terrier gets fear/aggressive towards some dogs on walks, especially large dogs, & any dog that barks or growls at her. I had a trainer tell me to avoid all dogs all the time & feed her constantly while walking to divert her attention. I can do that, but it's not going to change her behavior. She's smart, can do lots of things, energetic, playful, obeys well, loves all people & some dogs. Is this all I can do? Our walking is being very limited & I live near a beach.

What exactly do you mean when you say fear aggression? What does your dog do?
She is on leash, right? Are the other dogs leashed?
Then a big dog barks at her, and what happens? Does she bark back? Lunge? What?
The dog is six? Is this new behavior, or are you just finding yourself in a situation where you encounter more dogs?
