I just wanted to say i just recieved the LED Spotlit, frisbee, and ball. I have turned them all on and all are fantasticly bright! All use watch batteries which are extermely cheap to buy. The Spotlit actually has two modes solid light or blinking. Very nice feature when walking at night in the country. Only problem is right now my kids are arguing who gets the ball and who gets the frisbee. We don't have pup yet but I can just imagin the barking and voice arguments that are going to start . I guess if it gets bad even though they are pup toys kids like the glowy stuff too. All I can say is x-mas stocking stuffer here we come! Thank you Leerburg!

The Spotlits are on my "all-time favorites from LB" list.
Country or not, I love being able to see the dogs in the dark yard, even over in the bushes, by tracking the bobbing lights. I even have them color-coded! LOL
Tall red = big dog
Short red = small dog
Short white = other small dog
You could use blinking vs. solid for I.D. too.
And out walking at night, we're all much more visible with those bobbing lights surrounding me.

What is the "disco" one?
I can't figure that one out.
I want to get one to hang on Eddie so when we are at the movies or church and the lights are dim he doesn't get stepped on as much.

I think the red one might be perfect. It's less illuminating than the white one but just as easy to see, I think.

You can set it to blink or not. They are always on my dogs. They are smooth and flattish so not in the way of anything or uncomfortable. Not much bigger than their ID tags. Then I just squeeze it to turn it on when we go out at night.
And here are many similar items:

Willie-
The disco one is one that does multi colors. If you go to this link http://leerburg.com/1202.htm and watch the video ed has made on the metorlite balls, when he shows the one that goes multi colored thats disco. Ed (quote "Disco is my personal favorite" end quote) shows you about the balls in the video and that they are technically water proof. Water proofing on further inspection when I got these home was its ok if the grass is dewy but dont submerge. lol! Pup or my kids better not drop it in the small pool!
The spotlit is really nice. Soft rubber but the middle is metal not plastic like the ones I have seen in the stores. Battery is really easy to access, and they are pretty easy to squeeze. Even have a right and wrong way to go. Only one side lights up really bright (opposite of the on button ) I dont think Hubby can get this mixed up lol. Fits nicely on the puppy collar. But the same company that makes the balls makes the Spotlit, so watch the video, the Blue is amazingly bright, and Connie is right the Red is Poppin! also. Reminds you of LED tail lights on a car its that bright.
They are cheap, you could get all the colors and switchem for the moods too... hmmm...that is a thought to think about. More so if my kids lose this one I have backups! I have backups of everything.. except my brain! Ok on this note I am done rambling! lol
BTW Willie I am glad to see your feeling better! I hope that surgery really helps! My uncle had his done a few months ago, slow but surely he's getting back up to snuf. Healing thoughts and prays are heading your way.

I want to get one to hang on Eddie so when we are at the movies or church and the lights are dim he doesn't get stepped on as much. How about putting bracelets of reflective tape around each of his paws so that each paw is clearly marked? Like those stripes on road workers' vests and such? In addition to Spotlit? It would be no more intrusive than reflective stripes on running shoes and would serve the same purpose.

Wow guys!!!!
Lots of great info.
I will check out the vids....I'm so glad that Mary started this thread...I've been eying the night stuff for quite a while.
Ana, when Eddie is on down stay his paws are mostly tucked up under him, BUT, I love your idea for night work.
I think I might give it a try, I'm always worried if he is visible enough in a parking lot.
His harness and packs have reflective stuff on them, but I'm still fussy about it.

ok I have a goofy thought but bear with me. You know those glow in the dark necklaces that kids wear at the fair? You crack them and they glow for a good 4-6 hours? Well you can buy them in bulk or you can get them at a dollar bill store. I know you can also get LED lights that are battery operated. If you know anyone who sews they might be able to make something to ride along his harness that would be small white or colored lights. Granted I dont want your pup looking like a chirstmas tree but My sister is into costume design. She lit an outfit where the centers of flowers were so they had small white lights in them. Its an idea.
Let me ponder this a bit more. I like arts and crafts but I do know for a fact you can get a 3 ft strand of small led lights that operate on two double A batteries. I know also that you can light or even have someone make a harness for Eddie that would literally light the nylon up like the center line of a road. Flip a switch and there you go.

something like this!! I think if you would place it between to peices of nylong or leather and pop holes where the lights would show this would totally work! You would have to speak to someone who makes these things but I would definitly think this would be right up your alley and its designed for costume making! This is what my sister used in her costume! http://www.oogalights.com/LED-Battery-Operated-Ultra-Thin-Wire-String-Light-Strand-18-Amber-Yellow-Lights.aspx
Hope this gives someone on here some ideas about making and incorporating this into something you can use but I would definitly look this up.
