Michael, this is your 9 month old Cane Corso that bit your girlfriend in the face, right?
I would STRONGLY suggest you get a qualified dog trainer my friend. You are wading into some dangerous territory, and you risk making things a whole lot worse if you mess up with the e-collar. Do it for your dog and the people around you.
A dog has alot of friends because he wags his tail instead of his mouth.

ok, so i've never used an e-collar. Never had a need to.
But could it be that the dog is actually feeling the jolts, but instead of him stopping, it's actually amping him up more?? Kind of like if you use a prong at the wrong time for aggression.
Instead of stopping the action, it will have the reverse effect?
Im sure timing with an e-collar is just as critical (if not more so) as it is with a prong collar.
I would think that continually jolting the dog while he's already at the red zone isn't helping.
Michael, If I am understanding you correctly, your dog is in the car by himself, people walk by, and you are standing somewhere nearby, but outside of the car and continuously shocking the dog in an attempt to get him to stop barking?
This is the WRONG way to use an e-collar! The dog is not being trained in ANY WAY except to associate people walking by with him getting continuously shocked. He is not being given a command, and I have a feeling he has not been trained to be neutral to people. I don't mean to be rude but in my opinion using the collar in this fashion is border line abusive, and I realize that is not your intention.
May I ask what type of regular, pro-active training are you using with your dog? What behaviors have you worked on and which has he mastered? How is he on leash outside of the car when people walk by?
ok so no more ecollar for this if I'm not in the car bacause like you said this isent really teaching him anything and is probly just making him worse and on a leash I would say he is 50/50 for barking at people and 100% not going to let anyone pet him . Other than that he is preaty good with basic ob training still working an that every day he dosent like strangers
the main reason I got the collar was as a replacement for a bark collar the one I had did nothing when the dog would bark and the way I was seeing it the dog isent given a command with a bark collar on he was just shocked when he barked and I have him at work with me and can't have him barking at everyone that walks in the door
