My 4 yr old GSD has had a fatty growth on her front leg. It is dark, pretty solid and moves around when you push on it. The problem is it is slowly growing. The vet told me that taking it off would be more dangerous than leaving it on. Does anyone know of any topical solutions that can be used on this?

A lipoma? No, there is no topical treatment for it that I have ever heard or read of. The reply from "Patti" here pretty much sums up all I have read about lipomas:

My prior dog had several of those and the vet said the same thing. We did end up having one of them taken off because it got too big and was just 'in the way'. But within a couple years it came back. They are expensive to get taken off too. If I remember correctly it was several hundred dollars between the anesthesia, the surgery, and when they take off a lump they always biopsy it - even though they tell you they don't need to take it off cause it's benign!
