when i was in a club setting i was advised that i did not need to let my dog meet other dogs, that seeing them would be alright..hmmm...well he's very dog agressive now hackles and all...well i quit the club(yeah!! ) he's 22 months old and i did let him meet another dog but he grabbed him by the neck which caused the other dog(6 yrs old) to bite him hard...that did'nt stop him he ws more persistant to get the other dog so i jumped in and the other owner and i pulled him off...is it too late to start and if it isn't how do i start(where?)...any solutions?
My thoughts are you most likley can never "Fix" the problem, only control it through strict Obd. Once attacked or bitten, it's never forgotton, just as if you were bitten as a child.. you will always have some fear of dogs...same with your dog.

thanx lonny...yes i know i have a lo t of work and i'm determined on fixing all the problems that i have caused...i need a lot of patience when i deal with him...it's just that i wish i knew an avenue to help bring down his drive...i did the mistake of building his drive even more when he was young...so he's in over load right now...well maybe with age
Are you doing sport with him? Or what is it that you are planning for him? I would not worry to much about bringing down drive as much as I would be working on channeling it correctly. I would suggest you get the leerburg tape building drive grip and focus, if you have no ideas on how to train focus.. it did me and my pup a whole lot of good. Once you teach focus and respect, things will get better for you I'm sure!
I would say it sounds like this dog does not respect you as the pack leader so you need to correct that problem as well.
Good luck, if you have any more questions there are tons of great folks here willing to help!

I would say it sounds like this dog does not respect you as the pack leader so you need to correct that problem as well. This dog has attacked another dog, been handler aggressive and shown aggression towards his owner. Before anything else is done what Lonny said above needs to be addressed. I would not worry about sport aspirations or anything else but getting this dog to be safe to be around.
