Hello all,
Haydn and I will be traveling in December. Booked the airline tickets and shipment for Haydn. Got to make a car reservation. Which car would fit a giant 30x40x30 Furrary?

Oh yes, I can rent a boat if I wish to
To rephrase the question: which cheapest piece of junk will fit the crate? I might get him a smaller crate or make him ride in the back seat in something collapsible. Cover seats with plastic, of course.
Not sure I am prepared to pay $400 for a rental car

Why do you need such a large crate..he's not that big yet. If you are talking a regular car or coupe etc, you can put the crate in a back seat, sideways, if you used a blanket or something to prop up the one side to make it level.(or not) depending on your dog. But you still need to do something to secure, any crate, so that it can't move around as you accelerate or stop. Or the crate will be a projectile if you stop short.

Most 24 x 36 (400) crates should fit into the back of a subaru wagon or small suvs. I used to put 2 24 x 36 crates in Nissan Exterra.

Very interesting, Steve
Ann, that's the only plastic crate I've got at home. Might borrow or buy a smaller one, of course.
I know that pretty much nothing fits in the back of a 2-door car like our Acura. A 4-door sedan might be very different. Got to try a smaller crate in one of these before I rent! Silly me
