I have a fun post! I was wondering what funny things your dogs do with the christmas tree in the house... or decorations in general.
Dewey's "place" (his blanket he lays on) happens to be right next to where we put the tree... he keeps pulling ornaments off the tree! He looks mystified as to why they are even on there!

The only dog/Christmas tree story I have happened about 20 years ago. I had a little Shar Pei at that time who was absolutely bullet-proof house broken. We went to my Mother's (about 30 miles away) for Christmas eve, leaving China at home. While we were there, an ice storm came thru, making driving home impossible. After nearly 48 hours, we were able to creep and slide our way home. Of course, she was FRANTIC to get outside and had clawed up the interior of the back door. I grabbed the paper towels and went looking for the mess to clean up. I looked, and looked and looked some more, thinking, "There is NO WAY she held it all that time!" I finally found the wet spot. On the Christmas tree skirt, as close to the tree as she could get!

No funny dog stories - but a cat one!
Every year our as soon as we put up our christmas tree our cat turns into a primal beast and becomes unbearable in the house.
He climbs that treet, catapults off onto random things, races around the house, last year he tore every bead off my tree skirt, he starts attacking the other cats, sits in the window making various clicking noises with his teeth at the birds...the way he disrupts everything you would think he was a mountain lion.
In hind sight, we shouldn't have named him Sabertooth....

We had the sweetest little female Doberman a few years ago. She was a therapy dog and a favorite of children. When they hugged her, she would lean into them, close her eyes and sigh with contentment. She was one of a kind for sure, but she would eat ANYTHING.
Not thinking, the first year we had her, we decorated our tree as usual, including long strings of cranberries and popcorn and lots of candy canes. When we were done we went out for a bit of shopping.
We came home to a tree that was entirely naked on the bottom half, EVERYTHING was gone, including the tinsel garland (which there fortunately wasn't much of). Mina (the Dobe) was standing there looking innocent with a piece of thread hanging from her mouth, presumably from the popcorn/cranberry strands, and her breath smelled suspiciously of candy canes. We laughed our butts off, and then took Mina to the vet to make sure there weren't going to be any problems.
She checked out okay, but we were told to keep an eye on things and make sure she didn't become blocked. Aside from some interesting gas there didn't seem to be any negative consequences, but she did poop out little little bits of the tinsel garland for the next few days, much to the amusement of our neighbors. Our dog yard was especially festive that year
After that, we just decorated the top half of the tree for the rest of Mina's life.

Love the stories!
I already purchased a small table top tree for this year...Vigo will be about 7 months old by Christmas...TROUBLE
Will probably set up our large tree in the basement family room, away from my dog training area...perhaps I will set it up inside the ex-pen I have lol...

Just a quick kinda-related caveat: Every year, in addition to "holiday pancreatitis" (dumpster diving for stuffing, gravy, etc.), dogs eat entire gift boxes of chocolates from under the tree.
Just a reminder! Not just for us to know, but for anyone who might put gifts under our trees.
And back to:

Last year (Ryuk's first Christmas with me) I got the bright idea to have him "help" me organize presents under my parents' tree....you know, pick up a toy and place it under the tree...it was cute....
unfortunately somewhere that turned into "put every object your mouth fits on under the tree" from that point on every time I left him along in the room I'd come back to shoes, socks, dog toys, leashes, couch pillows, dog pillows, my mother's purse, etc under the tree.....
my mother was also paranoid he was going to pee on it (first male dog she'd every actually had contact with, was under the impression they lift their leg on everything). He put together that sniff at tree=crazy lady makes funny noises so he'd made sure she was watching then reeeeeeeally deliberately sniff the tree and watch her freak out.
