Mark Vogt Webboard User Reg: 08-17-2010 Posts: 19 Loc: Toronto, ON Canada Offline	I need some clarification on training my pup to go on command. He usually does his business right away but with winter creeping up I want to really get this locked in. Right now when he has to go I say "do you need to go 'outside'?" And then when we are outside I say "go 'outside'" and as hes doing it I say "good 'outside'" and lots of praise after. Is this correct? Am I using the 'outside' command too often? should I switch it up so when we are outside I say something like 'go quick'? I only use 'outside' when it refers to eliminating, otherwise I'll say 'walk' or something along those lines at other times. Thanks - Vinny

Cindy Shepard Webboard User Reg: 07-14-2010 Posts: 218 Loc: BC Canada Offline	I figure if I use the word "outside" meaning both to physically go through the door and to pee, the dog might take it to mean "I can pee now" if you say it while still indoors ... do you see what I mean? I use "go out side" for whenever we are actually going outside and "go pee" for once we are out there and in the right spot and just "good girl" for praise once she has gone. (again, if you are saying 'good outside" or "good pee" are you not just repeating the command yet again in the dogs mind?)
