Garrett has started making his own beer. We've made a honey sage 1 gallon batch that came out really well - sort of. The beginning was great but the finish was really dry, too dry for my liking. Others liked it though.
Today is our first 5 gallon batch. We've been at it with one of our friends for about three hours now. It smells great in here. It's going to be a Grand Cru style with orange, coriander, and honey. I can't wait for it to finish!
We also had some ingredients left over so a few days ago he made an American orange wheat batch. Just a 1 gallon.
Anyway, just wondering if there were any other home brewers on the board

The usual problem is hygiene - you have to make sure that you use *clean* equipment and follow the established steps correctly.
If you follow the same pattern each time and take the needed prep time, you shouldn't lose a batch ( I haven't so far....)
