With the video contest all wrapped up I thought I'd start a thread for all those working on the training resolution this year. A place to post about your training ideas, progress and videos for the month of January!
I'm working on training both Kipp and Kenzi to "hold and carry" an object. So far I've got them both taking the item in their mouth from my hand, now we're working on the idea of "holding" the object in their mouth.

I love this idea. Right now I'm trying to get Danni to start heeling. At the moment I am just focusing on her going around me into heel position and marking and rewarding that. She's getting better every day. We'll see how she does at the club Tuesday and whether or not I should start progressing.
I haven't decided what to do with Conan, but I think I should start heeling with him too. Now that I have a better idea of how to go about it, I think he'll be heeling in no time.
I am working on stand from a sit and a down with Vigo...same for Grace and Kira, but only from a down as they already knew from a sit.
As a group, I am working on whistle back recalls or rather "drop everything and get over here even if you are playing with each other". Vigo tends to go deaf when he gets to play with the girls and sabotages their attempts to come when I call Boys!
We began working on "weaving the legs" and have "RIGHT" down well, so will be adding "LEFT" this week.
I'm also continuing to work on the bring/hold/sit with the dumbbell. We ARE going to post a better video showing that entire behavior before all is said and done.
I promise not to let Erika on the bed, or jump on me, or give me big sloppy kisses, or let her on the couch, or bark incessantly until she get her way......

Well that lasted for a whole hour
I'm going to keep on discouraging air snapping when a car passes by - as subtle as it has become. I can let go of the sloppy sit when she comes, and being ever so slightly in front of my knee when she heels. BUT she has got to stop being so interested in the "big game" aspect of cars.

Have her quit bringing you your beer and I'll be impressed. Bwahahahaaa!

I've started teaching JD "Front Door". We usually go through the garage to go outside, but with all the rain the door is quite heavy (no garage door opener). Teaching him "front door" to go sit quietly by the door while I get his leash. Doing pretty good so far.

just a suggestion. I would just teach the place. call out front door and give him a treat or toy and go back to whatever you are doing, if he keeps associateing the door with going out he'll stay hectic
