Depends on the specifics of what your feeding her.
Some GSD's are small, some are super huge... keep that in mind! If you know the size of her parents that'll give you a better idea, but if she's at a healthy (slim) weight, I wouldn't worry about what the scale says. If she's going to be on the smaller side, then I wouldn't think 50lbs at 1 yr is too little. Maybe she'll only grow/fill out to 60lbs.
I know personally, I judge my dogs weight by the feel of his ribs, not his actual weight. Apparently (says the scale at my work) he varies up to 7lbs. From 82-89lbs, and still at a good 'working' weight. Yes, 7lbs is a BIG difference, but maybe he needed to poop/pee one day, and was empty the other. Who knows. Scales don't know everything.

Edit reason: haha- Barbara beat me. :)
I would disagree that 50 lbs is *necessarily* small for a female GSD.
Danke at her very heaviest has never surpassed the 60 lb mark.
55 lbs is her ideal weight, but I struggle to keep her there. She's a hard keeper.
At 50 lbs, she's still fit and trim, and not necessarily underweight, but being a sable GSD, she looks horrid, as the sable coloring typically makes dogs look very thin.
Rather than worry about numbers on the scale, it would be easier to post a good shot of her from the side, and a "birds eye view" of her back, so that we can see her spine and the shape of her ribs.
If you really want to get in depth, we're gonna need some reference points. Height? Head size? Something to orient us with size. I've seen Jack Russells from 10 to 35 lbs., all in great physical condition. I've read of GSDs from 50 to 100 lbs., all in great physical condition.
How big were her parents? Siblings? How long is a piece of string?
