I just got a lesson on how to clip Skipper's nails and I saw that the vet's clippers were way better than the ones I got from the pet store. I want a set like the vets. I'm wondering what everyone else is using?

Yep, I use the Miller Forge ones too. They last quite a while, and I do several nail trims a day, 5 days a week. I call them my "bone crunchers"!
I cut with those and then dremel the edges round with a cordless dremel. The dremels are $20 at Walmart. If you buy them from a pet supply, you'll pay double.
I LOVE trimming nails. Everyone I've ever worked with thinks I'm bizarre. I keep my own nail clippers with me, and I LOVE these. I don't like the Miller's ones, I think they are too big, and unwieldly. Hard for me to get in close to the quick, and cut angles with.
I have a pair of these in my treat pouch at work, and a pair at home. I also smooth off rough edges with a dremmel, but the way I end up trimming with these clippers there really are not any sharp edges. Love them!
lol. I don't know why, but I really enjoy it. It's one of those chores where I get instant gratification. Fly on out to Washington. Seattle is lovely this time of year. (HA! I MIGHT be lying...) Free nail trims!
Whoops- I linked the large size. I don't use those, I prefer the Medium/Regular size. Regular
Jenny- don't worry about Jethro's big ol nails- if you take of corners and work your way around, the smaller clippers do a GREAT job, and don't tend to splinter the nail like some big ones will IMO. These 'regular' sized ones can trim the thickest, most brittle mastiff and dane nails you can imagine, yet are still nimble enough to use on pocket size pups w/o hacking off the entire nail.

I'll use just about any scissor type ones so long as they're sharp. I used to go through about 2 sets a year of each size. I've tried to have them sharpened but discovered that it was just simply cheaper to buy a new set than have my blade guy grind a new good edge.
So far I've used miller's forge and pet edge house brand.
