Good God! Anybody want to do the math on how much all her animals weighed together?

Got to be some kind of record there.
Wish your friend luck for me on the rottweiler.

Oh my gosh... over 230 dogs - not to mention the other animals. Deeeeeep sigh. Can you even begin to imagine the quality of life those poor animals led? And here most of us feel guilty if our dogs are left alone an hour longer than we intended... How horrible.

This no doubt will be on the APL show about the Houston ASPCA. They have a wonderful set of laws and will enforce them, unlike many other jurisdictions. In Texas, Jamie, you can buy and possess almost any kind of animal - they sell them out of ads in catalogs and websites. So quite common for people to have big cats out there!

They also use big cats for hunts. We read about it in the papers here in IL. They put them on chains, let them out of the cage and then the hunter shoots it. Thats what was reported here.

I figured it would be on APL as well. I'm always impressed by the work the Houston ASPCA does. And they don't put up with sh$t from anyone when it comes to the welfare of the animals.
If Kevin gets the pup (he believes she'll be under 6 months of age) and I can get him to send pics I'll be sure to post them. If anyone can bring one of these dogs back to a state of health and well-being, he'll be one to do it. I'd trust him with either of my dogs or their lives.

As a result, the 39 horses were delivered to a Gatesville veterinarian and a second seizure warrant was obtained for another 230 dogs, 13 rodents, 18 cats, a primate, a deer, a raccoon, a monitor lizard, two Bengal tigers and two Mountain Lions.
Can you say animal hoarders! Breaks my heart, but so glad the animals were seized and now they will be cared for as they should be. I still can't get over this list...230 dogs?

I know. It's horrendous. And I believe one of their "employees" that cared for the horses (not sure what other animals because I stopped reading after I read this) said "I fed the horses EVERY OTHER DAY. They were well cared for." Now granted, there are some instances where this would probably be ok - sufficient pasture, etc. - but I'm thinking that probably was not the case here.
I'm just thankful they were seized and their recovery can now begin.

This story got me interested in the idea actually. After reading 6 or so articles about it I kind of want to! Quite an undertaking to do it responsibly though, maybe if I hit it big one day
