Today's job was load the yearling bulls, trailer ride to the scale, off load the bulls, run them thru the gates, weigh, load them back up.
Guess who helped? Who was INDISPENSABLE.
THE PINKER!
He got them to jump in the trailer 2x, both on and off. He even growled at the scale man like a real ACD.
I didn't even need a sorting stick, MY DOG DID THE LOADING!
On the way home, the re-load after they had been weighed, the hired man tried to load them without the dog. They wouldn't go. We'd still be up there beating on them to jump in the trailer without the dog. Plus, the bulls were starting to get peeved.
I'm super proud!
I didn't think of camera faced with the bull hauling. The bulls are 3/4 halter broke, but it's still a little hairy whenever you do anything with bulls. Sometimes they really light up.

I can't even begin to imagine what it takes to load those bad boys in a trailer - with Pinker's help or not.!!
Maybe at some point you can shoot Pink just moving them around at home for you... and post it... for us.
Congratulations Pinker! That must have been an awesome feeling! Glad to see you working those bulls so well :-)
But Betty just a gentle correction - ACDs should not growl at people unprovoked so I hope you discouraged that behavior. This type of behavior is what gives the breed the bad name it has in some areas. My dogs would skip the "Come to Jesus" meeting and would go straight to the "Tent Revival" if they decided to growl unprovoked at someone but that is just me and I run a tight ship with my crew ;-)
