Dennis, I train just to see how much I can do with them, and for fun. The competition aspect is just incidental. The obedience scene in India is dominated by police and army. And their dogs work by pure intimidation. You should see the dogs on a recall, it is sad. (I am not being snooty, just being honest) There is almost 0 participation from civilians.
There are no service dogs in India that I know of.
