Can we perhaps just start another thread?
20 pages is a LOT.

... I don't know how much it costs, but if somebody takes her, I will try to ship her. I can research it. I will save money if needed. If i get help, its great. .... After this week is out we will get the person mentioned (I was PMd about this, I don't know if its OK to say trainer's name here) to come out, pay him to check Yume out. After that I will say here what he thinks.
We had a wonderful walk, strangely, and both enjoyed it. No incidents, no attempts to bite. No muzzle, no resistance. I got comfortable with her and took it off, she was tense but then relaxed -I tried to keep my movements slower and calmer, speak to her in friendly manner, not uninhibited per groundwork. Firm but nice. We even sat on the grass together and she did try to be pushy a bit but i just shoved her off and told her to go do her business, and she obeyed. She immediately relaxed when she saw I am not cold with her. Submissive, obedient. I said to hell with "ignoring her" and worked with her, allowed her to carry a really big stick home, played "Leave it " and "Take it", practiced "Over" and scratched her belly. No pulling, no biting. Mouthing was corrected verbally, she accepted it fine. Praised for good behaviour, shushed for bad. I am very careful not to make sudden moves, and no startles. I will try this week to keep it up before the guy comes.
Considering this turn of events, I think she needs to have her thyroid checked before she goes anywhere. I am no specialist, but this change of behaviour .... Yes, she has been like this before us. But there were no good days before. Just bad days, mostly. I am going to check out how much it costs and see if we can do it sooner than I planned, I planned to get it checked anyways, Akitas are prone to it.

"Submissive, obedient."
Very different from dominant-aggressive. I'd like to revisit health issues for a second.
Did you say you had done a thyroid panel or were thinking of doing one?
Also, the HD topic. I know you said she had been vet-checked, but was HD every talked about at all? Did the vet (for example) observe her gait?

HD. Nope, they just gave her a physical, plus we had a visit in the beginning as well to rule out parasites, she went thru a course of antibiotics, and later got her shots (second booster and rabies) That was it. She was examined and they did not do X-Rays, she seemed super healthy to them. I was even told :"IF every dog coming her was so healthy..."
Second positive walk. she got very obsessed with a growly doggie in the street, I told her to "Leave It" and when she sate down and stared at me, praised her and pet her head. Good, nice walk, barely any verbal corrections and a couple of gentle prong tugs, but no issues. Shoudl we sprinkle the place where she sleeps with lavender oil per Cesars advice, hahaha? And mine...too...to help me chill. ;-)

I used to snicker at aromatherapy, but I don't now. They had a "health fair" at the Civic Center here a couple of years ago, and we could observe our BP and respiration rates and I think sweat (not sure) with a biofeedback thingy as we smelled certain scents.
Oddly, vanilla and almond oils had the most (downward) effect on my respiration rate. I did hear others talk about lavender and cedar, though.

Dr. Betty just went through a lengthy (and extremely methodical and consistent) touch-sensitivity protocol with her dog, as part of her complete turnaround with her "handler aggressive," pushy, reactive dog. (The dog was and is not dominant; she was reactive and fearful and had also learned that acting out in tantrums was effective to get what she wanted.)
There is (never was) any question that the dog was very reactive to touch, but Betty now has a dog she can easily do "procedures" on, touch to guide, and share physical affection with. However, as Aaron is saying, hidden pain triggers were sought first.
Point being that HD and elbow dysplasia would be something I would want to rule out too.
Dogs (and other predators) are hard-wired not to show pain as weakness. Aggression, even what looks to us like rage, are far more likely reactions in strong breeds to pain.

I'm going to say again, though, because it's a statement of fact and not an attack on anyone: Being afraid of the dog makes working with the dog a deal-breaker. I won't even add "JMO."
Whether the dog is fearful (which I believe), anxious, reactive, pushy, in pain, or actually dominant-aggressive (I still have not read a single word that makes me think "dominant aggressive," but in this particular point it's irrelevant), the owner being afraid of the dog cannot result in an effective rehab or a workable relationship.

Yes, which reminds me, I wanted to say that there is no problem with mentioning the name of the trainer you were PM'd about, in terms of the board rules.
We've often had people post about this trainer, or that trainer, and ask for opinions on them.

Oh, I meant to ask before: I know getting an e-collar came up very early and was immediately shot down as being a very bad idea for this dog, but as far as you know, has anyone used an e-collar on her before?
