I think it's sad that Pits keep getting blamed because they just happen to be currently popular with irresponsible dirt bags
Pits and pit-type breeds are getting banned left and right, and one consequence of that is that other breeds will become popular in their place among the irresponsible owners. A lot of breed bans currently in effect and being contemplated already include GSDs, Rottweilers, Dobermans. It's a slippery slope, and no breed is safe. We should all be very concerned.

Pack of dogs= bad news, regardless of breed.
No kidding. I kid you not we have a vicious pack of oversized yorkies who on occasion break out of their yard and make a dash at people in their yards, kids walking home, and other pets in my neighborhood. You laugh until you realize there are ten of these little bastards.

I can't remember the last breed ban that went into effect. Most of the ones I'm aware of are falling apart due to the financial crisis since these laws are so expensive to enforce. The only breed restrictions I know of that are expanding have to do with insurance companies refusing to policies for homeowners with certain breeds. I have a friend who is in the insurance business and she said her list of breeds is getting longer and they require photos in some cases where the owner is claiming an unknown.

Then you run like HELL! Ack! I saw 3 at work today. Not one could handle being told no.

I found this story astounding...primarily for this:
" New Mexico State Police officials were conferring with the local District Attorney's Office to determine if criminal charges are warranted..."
They have the owners...the victim is DEAD -"warranted"?????
