Well heck. Now that we are taking in rescue horses, hubby was just saying that we need the Leerburg Horse Training video series. Where is the one on tracking???
I personelly have always liked the scent of a horse stable and-------OH! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Never mind. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> A horse with hunt drive---naw.
Maybe it's sniffing out some choice grass that has been diverted to finding humans? We all know that horses will eat the tender shoots and leave the weeds for the humans to mow <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> .

Unless a horse is dying of thirst, starving, or the scent horse is a stallion, and the lost person has the only water around, the only food around, or a mare in season with him/her, I can't see it. Outside of a few good stock horses, and a great old draught horse my grandfather had, most of the horses Iv'e known weren't the brightest bulbs in the barn.

You really had to reach to stir the pot on this one didn't you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
How about we take it a step further.. how about the personal protection horse? just need a few horses with fight drive to start a breeding program... any volunteers willing to wear a stomp suit? LOL
There is smart for an animal and smart for a horse. Horses are really, stupid. I love my Arab and he seems to learn faster than my friends horses but he is a total dim wit compared to every dog Ive ever owned not even close. But, as Gene Hackman said to Denzel Washington in "Crimson Tide" stick a cattle prod up a horses ass enough times and you can teach him to deal cards.
