Dennis, my concern would be with how structurally stable this will be if you are in an accident... The tarp and bungies might not be enough to keep Drago contained - but I could be wrong. Depending on the size of what you are constructing, might you be able to use the door off an old crate? Drago is gorgeous, btw...
I have to agree Barbara, Even in the back of my SUV I don't like that my crate can move around. When I get a little bit of extra cash I plan on buying a crate from leerburg, and having the ability to bolt it down into my trunk when I need it in there.
there are tiedowns in the truck so it's not going anywhere, it's hog panel it's made of a lot more metal than the wire crates from the big box stores. the door/gate I havn't quite figured out yet. I'll be sure to stress test it before deployment.
It doesn’t look the sturdiest to me either (not that I know anything about this type of stuff) but I’m sure when you get it done it will be up to safety standards (at least Leerburg scrutiny).
What about turning that frame around? Does it butt up to the cab nicely? Save you a back panel and maybe you could customize a door out of the end panel you have there.

it butts up nicely, I'm going to stress test it by putting my two sons in it and tell them no xbox or internet until they break out
Now you're talking... mucho better. And Drago DOES look like he has a tool belt on!! Wouldn't surprise me if the beast could use a drill... his sister can twist the top off a cold beer - I swear!
