I have an almost 5 month old puppy whom I want to teach obedience and perhaps personal protection further down the road. I saw this trainer at an expo, he seems pretty good to me.
Megan, i would check out local schutzhund clubs attended a training session without your dog. see if you feel comfortable with the people. with any trainer ask for references. they should n't be offended
You can start training now, with a knowledgeable trainer(s). Not sure where in So Cal you are, but there are a ton of Schutzhund, French Ring, and Mondioring clubs down there. Check them out first, like John suggested.
