For a 25 lb dog mine sure leaks a ton of hair. We Furminate weekly.
Any secrets? There seems to be no end to the hair.
Diet is raw+E+salmon oil, tons of exercise.
Tis the season. My dogs are exhaling hair. I could knit a sweater with the hair that my male is dropping.
I find that furmilating, raking, or brushing after running my dogs (exercise) seems to get more hair off. Don't know is the exercise opens their pores more of it is just a coincidence or not. Just seems that way.

I also find that a bath stimulates the hair-release mechanism. LOL
As opposed to the loose hair all coming off with the rinse water, no, I see a cloud of air-hair surrounding the dog (like the Pigpen character in "Peanuts") for the whole rest of the day after a bath.
My two girls are shedding like crazy...molting is more like it. It is almost embarrassing to take them out in public Think it has been the extremely hot summer and they go in and out of air conditioning a lot. My male is not shedding as much, but he has less coat to begin with.

It IS embarrassing! How did I find out about the bath thing? I brushed and then bathed all the dogs in preparation for being in a friend's car.
The two double-coated ones pushed out about a dumpster-full in the car. Hot day, A/C on, fur (clean fur ... lol) everywhere, us picking it off our tongues every time we spoke, vision obscured ....
Weekly furminating requires serious bribery. Vacuuming him --- gosh, that would be great, but I don't think it's happening.
He still gives the dishwasher the hairy eye ball after having pulled the rack out (while trying to get his dish) about 8 mos ago. He has yet to lick a dish even though my IG stands on the open door checking for tasty morsels while I'm loading the washer after supper.
He has character flaws, but we really like him. He's interesting as can be.
And I have to admit that if I have a few hours in the evenings, I am gonna pile the dogs in the car and head to the park...not get out the brushes lol. Of course, while at the park yesterday, my sis and I picked hair clumps out while we sat on a picnic table...looked like a dog had spontaneously combusted
