We're still nebulizing them twice a day which is working wonders.
We paid a visit to the vet and she told us to continue. She said if the snottiness is still prevalent after another 3-5 days nebulizing, we could try them on children's antibiotics (amoxicillin) in syrup form. We hope this won't be necessary.
We also bought some worming paste and some dried puppy food from the vet. She also recommended some small tins of mushy food (same brand) 3 of the pups have taken straight away to the new mushy tinned food and they also lap up a small plate of formula.
I'm going to try soaking the dried food in the formula and try them on that.
Generally speaking, they are all eating well, gaining weight, playing with each other and 2 new small toys!
We just need to get them over the snottiness.
Now we're thinking ahead and trying to decide how to make some sort of enclosure in our spare room, with a sleeping area, feeding area, wee area and play area. It's all very tiring but also very rewarding. We're so pleased we managed to save their little lives
You're right Betty it is very hard but also rewarding!
I'll post some links to photos I have online on my FB page or on Google+
We made a big playpen this weekend. They are all growing really fast! They are all eating the dried puppy food mixed with formula.
I sit in the pen with them and feed them, then they all come and scramble to get a spot on my knee, then they fall asleep. Sweet.
