I read this in this morning's Times too. This guy shouldn't own any dog.
The idea that a dog is a "product" to just order up, and if it doesn't fit just ship it back. Like a faulty toaster or a pair of jeans that don't fit. Makes me livid.

To be honest, I would not keep a dog that aggressively tried to bite my children either HOWEVER, he gave it 1 week. After a home switch, a plane ride and all the other stress this dog had been through, she should have been given more time to settle in. Meeting other dogs, the kid, the cat and being thrust into OB work immediately with a new owner she has no bond with is a terrible idea. Many a good dog would have reacted to the stress the same way.
On the other hand, I have heard of the kennel, but know nothing about it, so I'll be careful here- You would think a responsible kennel owner would recognize this guy's stupidity and happily take back a $7k dog. I do beleive 72 hours is an unreasonable amount of time to figure out if this dog was a workable fit when you are selling imported, likely high drive dogs over the internet. It's my opinion that both parties are very wrong here and it's terrible that in the end, the poor dog was left to bare the brunt of their inability to work together for her betterment.

I'm no expert, but it doesn't seem unusual for an adult dog to behave this way in a new place with new things and people. (With the exception of trying to bite the son, but I wonder about the details of that coming from someone who would return a dog in that manner.)
I think that introducing cats, kids and other dogs within the first week is really stupid. THe dog shouldn't have had access.

I don't know where to start!!. It is hard for me to imagine some one selling a 5 year old dog.?? Like it is a commodity .
And you have to be a bigger genius to buy a 5yr old dog and then call and complain that the "Sitz" , "Fuss", "Ows" functions don't work!!! "Sir, May I have your name, address and phone number please? are all the wires plugged in? Are all the lights on ? Did you try switching off and switching on?"
I will fault the seller, more than the buyer for not verifying if the buyer is capable of handling the dog.
Good news is , the dog is back safe, the bad news is he may try to sell her again.

This happens frequently. There is a market for trained dogs. Of course the biggest/best paying buyers tend to be the clueless ones and lots of unscrupulous sellers take advantage of it.
And I was pretty irritated at the way the article was written "poor, unloved dog" No! That wasn't it at all! This was a guy who get in over his head because he wanted a cool/macho dog but had no clue how to care for it! And he connected with one of the many unscrupulous dog "trainers"/brokers out there. This should have been an article on doing your research before you add a living, breathing creature to your home.

This Dubin guy is a idiot and probably couldn't handle a Basset Hound.
As if he cared at all about the dogs well being or worried about the dog he wouldn't have sent Emmi (beautiful dog)on the plane.
I wouldn't give him his money back.

Kraftwerk K-9's is nearly in my backyard. He's a well known local breeder, who's got reviews on both sides of the fence.
I believe that both parties are at fault, as many before me have said. Seems that Wayne(Kratwerk) should have done some more research, or checking in on the dog after arrival, but it sounds like the buyer had some unrealistic expectations. ESPECIALLY when he tossed the dog on a plane, and shipped him cross-country.
The dog is back and safe, and I can guarantee that she'll be up for sale again shortly.
Video of her OB. As you can see, she's a pretty drivey dog. I'm sure she was getting enough exercise at her home on the east coast to keep her fit, and mentally sound. Or not. Maybe that's why she took to chasing the cat, amongst other naughty behaviors!

Nice looking dog. Glad that she is at least safe. For the moment. Although I suspect her future fate will be uncertain at best at the hands of this broker.
Most of us have heard of that kennel & its having a less then stellar reputation. So none of this surpises me.
Noone in their right mind would either sell a dog this way or buy one this way. Both these guys should be shot.
Everyone now wants the GSD protection dog, even if they know NOTHING about protection work or in many cases GSDs at all. These dealers with a total lack of scrouples are jumping all over this trend & selling dogs making all kinds of claims about them & charging whatever the traffic will bear for them. Not any wonder more kids aren't harmed in event like this.
If you are worried about protection for your family...buy a GUN!!

Even more beautiful after seeing the vid thanks Kelly.
Well if the owner is concerned about Emmi's well being and wants the dog to go to a good home where she will get plenty of stimulation I would love to take her,
I just don't have $7500 to spend but could spring for a ticket, lol.
