Tried to buy Ryuk an orange vest today for hunting season....
label says "fits beagles, springer spaniels, dalmations, and cocker spaniels"...um...okay, next size up says it fits golden retrievers and great danes...smaller size it is....
length wise it's fine, girth wise, the smallest setting and he's got 5 inches of clearance FIVE INCHES. Do these vests assume that these dogs are build like fattened pigs?
I also tried on a new carting harness, why do none of these sizes take into account that a fit 50lb dog is not always going to have a 35 inch girth?

Well, look at the breed options!!! LOL Normally, the individual dogs I see of those breeds ARE built like fattened pigs! I'm curious as to how Dal's got grouped with Springers and Beagels- how does the deep chest of a Dal (and deep girth!) look anything like a short squatty Beagle? Weird......
The local Walmart has a gimmick set up in the pet section that attaches to the collar and rolls out to become a 'water proof' sheet to cover your dogs back. Oddly enough, they don't come in anything over toy poodle sized...
The pet stores are worse, every "harness" is comfort harness (more like a vest), so the little brat can pull the owner in comfort. All the coats now are in little dog sizes. I need a warm coat for my dutchie to block the wind when he rides in the crate in the truck.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
