So, today I went into the HS to visit I dog I know well. He has spent almost every day at our small farm with his now former owner.
This guy allowed his dog to spend 5 DAYS at animal control after being picked up as a stray and luckily the HS was able to take him. They were inseperable buddies, doing everything together, then all of the sudden, he decides to let him go.
I am angry beyond words right now and this is not looking good for his future employment considering our livelihood is based off of great animal care and welfare. We strive to best by our animals every day and this does not reflect our goals at all.
So today I went and saw CJ the 9 month old doll of a black lab who did nothing but visit the horses and wait in the shop for his "owner" to take him hunting. This loving pup who played with my dogs, my kids and actually left the chickens alone is now waiting for someone to love him unconditionally.
I am unable to visit my horses this weekend, because if I end up going to the farm, I'm going to say something my husband will regret so I hope it's ok that I vent to you all.
He gave us this bogus stort about CJ being stolen and adopted out immediately, but little did he know I had friends at the HS.
Please pray for CJ that he finds a home soon And pray that the puppy bought YESTERDAY gets picked up by AC quickly and rehomed just as fast. There is a special place for people who do this to dogs....
If we lived at the farm, he would be mine. Right now we live in town and the parent-in-laws live at the farm. I wish we had the space/time for 4, but we just don't as much as I wish we did.
Until he is adopted I will be going to the HS to work with him and keep him active though.
As far as firing the guy, if he doesn't get it together he's gone, but right now he is living in a house my FIL owns and as of tomorrow it is a "no pets allowed" lease. I will take responsibilty for rehoming his newest "friend" but then there will be no more. It is the only way I can help control the situation to keep him from purchasing and dumping more dogs.
He is closely monitored all working hours and has been told very clearly that his stupidity concerning animals will not be tolerated as a reflection on us. Demoted to non-animal tasks and on my you-know-what list.
