There is a reason I stay away from Wal-Mart (and Target) early on black Friday!
I did go to Kohls at 5:30 am - it looked like a busy Saturday when I got there. I usually wait and do quite a bit of my personal shopping on Black Friday because I'm on a budget and that's when most of the best deals are. I usually stay away from the hot ticket items and have never had an issue at our local stores.
It's funny, I work on a Provincial Team up here and a few staff are located on the lower mainland, pretty close to the border. One took the morning off and another took the afternoon to head into Bellingham for the deals. So you guys are bombarded with a bunch of Canadian Shoppers as well.
Personally, I can't stand shopping (isn't that what husbands are for? ) Ranks up there with tribal provider, a contact sport that I don't want anything to do with. You couldn't pay me enough to enter one of those stores on that kind of day.
Joe, I think you made a great choice, "waffling" on that decision. It's good to have you here, unscathed.
I stay far, far away from the stores from Thanksgiving until January . Did most of my shopping last Tuesday and will do the rest at little mom and pop shops and the Tractor Supply-like store.
One lady lost her son after the midnight madness began at the local Walmart. It took them 35 minutes to locate the barely 1 year old It reminds me of a song....These are the people of Wallmart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNzwgrtdBo8
