I am looking for ideas on types of competition obediance dogs out there. So far I can only think of Malinios, Shepherds, Pinschers and AB. I am looking for a long hair or plush coated dog that I could get into the sport of competion obediance with. Also another question, do you have to do bite work to compete in a Schutzhund club?
Long, plush coat, great obedience dog. Australian Shepard. Mine loves obedience. She's got a great nose for trackin (mine air scents for SAR) and I think a few even have Shutzhund titles.
I am pretty sure I dont want a retriever because there are already 6 on my street. I am one of those who wants to be different. I am the only one with a siberian. Anyone know about the Tevuren?

Anyone know about the Tevuren? I don't think you should not consider a Retriever if they are a good option for you just because there are 6 on your street. That's so silly!
What do you really want the dog for?
looking at CDX titles, UD, and any others I can find. Tracking, Heeling, Retrieving, Down/Stay. I would love to do Schutzhund, but living in the city and being inexperience at it I dont' feel that I should have a dog and teach it bite work. My neighbors would have a cow.
What about standard Poodles? I found a great breeder who breeds for working dogs. I will look into retrievers. I sure love their soft coat and cute expression.
