Its 25 here and my dutchie loves it! He pulled me on my bike today and looked like a big black sleddog. I love cold weather too and snow...it doesn't bother me, just wear something warm and viola. I hate heat and humidity though and so does my dog. You can't wear something cool enough for that...now if it involves water...ok then.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.

ROfL We need a picture!
I remember those type of temps when I grew up near Chicago Ariane. I left at 19 and it took me decades to get this far north. Equador is really sounding nice right now...LOL
we have had a mild winter about that temp, but the real cold the girls are booted up and wear coats to do their busniness, but ya for florida that sounds cold
Skiing tonight was -14 F. I can tell it's cold when my eyelids start freezing together and when my cheekbones (only exposed skin) start feeling a bit frost-nipped.
The dogs don't seem to mind, a bit of picking up the feet if we stopped, otherwise quite perky. They've all got decent coats, and even the shepherds' feet do OK in snow. My husky runs best when it's below 0 F. The pup gets a cool looking frosty ruff from frozen condensation of her breath. Lots of lynx and snowshoe hare tracks for dogs to sniff. It's neat how they manage to float on top of the snow with their huge feet- unlike the dogs who plow through the powder.
I kind of like the cold snaps. The snow crystallizes so that it sparkles and everything is quiet. We've got about 2 feet of thick powder snow. Really great winter for skiing so far. I wouldn't mind another 15 or 20 degrees warmer though.
If it's going to be cold, I want there to be snow. Otherwise, where's the fun?
We got our first snow day before yesterday. I was concerned how Bru would handle it since he has always hated the cold rain. I also worried that Ollie would get stiff.
I should have recorded it...Bru's first reaction to snow was hilarious! He didn't know whether to run in it or eat it so he sort of did both at the same time. Ollie just sort of stayed close and looked at Bru like he was an idiot, but he didn't seem to get stiff. We went in and out all day wanting them to exercise and enjoy the snow without getting too cold.
All around, I have been pleased. I really thought Bru would be miserable.
If it's going to be cold, I want there to be snow. Otherwise, where's the fun?
Yep, I kind of agree with this one. It's in the low single-digits here, wind-chills below zero (F). I have my snow-shoes out and ready, but there is no snow
My dog doesn't enjoy the cold, even though I dress him for the weather, unless we are out in the field snow-shoeing and generating some heat, so it's exercise in the stairwell and a good nosh on rib-bone for him today.
