I think those are beautiful photos. Hobbes would think he'd have died and gone to heaven if he could follow me around all day everyday with his trusty wagon behind him. Ps had to bookmark those pics for future reference.
Love those! Ryuk's cart broke and he's also been trained for bikejoring. I've already started the groudwork with Gambit too He has a beautiful trot and would be wonderful in front of a cart when he's old enough
I really would like to build a sulky cart...hmmm materials... :-(
I think Logan would love it...I would love it more to tire him out. I could have him pull it on the 5 mile bike trail at this park. The park to too far most of the time but occasionally would be nice.
I wanted to do weight pulling too for Logan but there's not a club nearby. The yard is too small to practice in and transporting all that weight just to train...not practical.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
I think with training I could drive Ryuk and Gambit together in front of a cart. They have no problems walking shoulder to shoulder and I've ground driven them as a pair with no issues. Gambit has a long stride but Ryuk moves very quickly. I'd have to be careful of how I attach them together so that Gambit doesn't strangle Ryuk but attaching them harness to harness worked very well. Gambit is very willing to let Ryuk help him understand the directionals commands and how to turn but leans right into the harness on uphills.
Once I get my bike back I'm going to start Gambit on the bike to learn some control before I really start working on the cart training....
I'm starting to drive a couple of our dogs togather as a team and they love it. It also tires them out more than just walking as well. Bike trails are a great place to practice IMHO. Hope these are helpful...
Thanks, they won't help me now but when I can get the stuff that might help with designing it...those Chalo sulkies are real nice...I really like them. Maybe I'll find some bike stuff thrown away some where eventually. Not sure if I have the right stuff for the welding...my dad could show me how though.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
You're welcome. Pawnshops, thrift stores and garage sales are also good places to look for inexpensive bike stuff. I agree that the Chalo sulkies are very nice as I have one on my wish list. Won't be able to able to order one for a really long time though. I'm having a friend and my younger brother put their heads togather to see if they can make something similar for me..
