Ramachandran Subramanian Webboard User Reg: 08-02-2004 Posts: 809 Loc: Chennai, India Offline	I have always felt that the simplest and the most humblest of achievements are the ones that give me the most satisfaction. Here is one like that. I am building a small house in a 4 acre plot about 350 miles (560 Km) away from where I live. It is beautiful and surrounded by mountains and an Elephant and Tiger Reserve. I let my babies loose and they have a ball when we go there. But my babies have a recall I am proud of. It is a very simple achievement but gives me the most satisfaction. Recall from far away

THAT is the recall I have in my mind's eye when I am teaching it, when I use the recall all day, indoors and out, for every good thing in the dog's life. Thank goodness Enzo (my pup) doesn't like me out of his eye sight, likewise it would freak me out if I couldn't see him. One time we were hiking and he got ahead of me; I heard this huge thud into the creek; I quickly called him back - he wasn't wet! I have no idea what the heck he was chasing, but that was it for me...no out of sights anymore!!! Tanya

My chow/setter Sport had a recall like that, I wish I had a video. Sometimes I had to use a whistle because she was so far away in the woods...but she would come back, tongue hanging out after what seemed like forever...she was so far I couldn't even hear her. A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
