I have a favorite leash style. It is a regular looking nylon leash with clasp, but it has an extra loop about four inches up from the clasp. It is a great tool for the timid owner, and it gives more control closer to the head, and helps in the sit command. In conjunction with a prong or good dog collar, it is a really effective tool kit.
What's your favorite leash configuration?

Depends on how many dogs I am walking...when I walk all three, I use thin 4' leather leashes. It's easier to hold on to all three leashes in one hand because they are thin.
If I am walking just one dog, I use a six foot thin leather leash or a 15 foot cotton long line, depending on where we are going.
I have several Leerburg leashes that are great for the above.
Anything strong and super thin for me. Well I guess I shouldn't say anything. Don't like rope type leashes and the chains just downright hurt if you happen to grip anywhere but the handle.
Currently mine are all 1/4 inch leather. I like the 6 and 4 feet for different things. Any kind of on leash training, love the 6 foot span. For walks and bike riding I prefer the 4 foot, not as much left dangling.
I don't have a shortage of leashes and have quite a collection of them in leather 4, 5, 6ft and some other material I forget the name Bio somthing in 5,& 6ft but have not even used them yet and nylons.
The one I always seem to grab is the 3ft leather drag line that gets the most use, have that in 5 ft also.
Mike I might have to try that leash with the extra close loop might be good with this reactive dog Troy I'm taking out
I have the Leerburg 6 and 10 foot leather leashes, and they are fantastic. The 6' is my favorite. For casual walks my 23' flexi is good. But if I could only have one, I would probably take the 6' Leerburg. It's a great leash, and the leather is fantastic.
