Just a thought. My puppy is a German Show line breeding. I could not handle a working line in my present situation.
BUT... He has more drive and energy than my past working line shepherd!!! I thought they were supposed to be more mellow!
He is spooky smart, eats like a horse, and is incredibly strong.
Are those just generalizations? Or do they get more mellow with continued training? He is pretty obedient, unless he is super hungry and then he's possessed!! LOL!
Davids right in alot of ways, add to that, he's a puppy. Some pups just have that personality, plus the puppy energy, plus the lack of training, plus the way people treat them...etc
Sometimes I think my DS pup is going to explode he has so much energy. I never thought a dog could act like he was on crack, but I stand corrected.
I agree, he's just a puppy, and I'm sure will not mature for quite a while. I've got a hunch he'll be mellow. But he is the liveliest puppy I've ever had!! I envy his energy!!

You've probably been warned already, but they don't grow out of it. Mine is 6 and counting....still a crackhead.
But about the GSD...yeah I think this pup might be be higher drive dog. Its my understanding that some German showlines have very high drives but they're not as hard as working lines and can be nervier.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
